Fatal Claw New Game Plus
Cycle 35, resets, fragments, and afterglow walls.
Fatal Claw’s extra-cycle layer is what most players mean by New Game Plus, even when the UI talks in cycle numbers instead of a giant NG+ logo. After rewind, the documented cycle count moves from 34 to 35. You keep a lot of Kisha. The world puts certain resources back. Collectibles you already grabbed do not spawn as duplicates; they return as memory fragments. This page is the inventory of what resets, what stays, and how to plan a second loop without deleting the ending work you already did. Read Endings first if you have not seen credits and the epilogue. Use the full walkthrough only as a region reminder, not as a first-cycle spoiler dump you already finished.
Why the extra cycle exists
The Stone of Narrative allows mutually exclusive objectives. Afterglow walls (blue) sit behind later-cycle traversal. Sap cures and Acer stones can be spent “wrong” for the happiest bundle of story segments. Extra cycles exist so those systems can run again without pretending the first credits roll was a complete wipe. This wiki describes the mechanics, not a marketing name the game may never print.
What resets
Bosses reset. You will fight named encounters again. Confirmed names remain Ortrinde, Irbes, Nagaraja, and Enma. That is still not a complete official roster. Reset means you can relearn Ortrinde’s floating blades and Irbes’s clumping copies with the kit you kept. Owl statues still restore HP after those fights; statues themselves stay as world objects you already found.
Acer stones reset. Aisare’s Stone is a related named object in the same story family. If an Acer pickup was a one-shot on cycle 34, look for it again on 35. Do not assume the chest is empty because your inventory still shows a key from last cycle. Check the room.
Sap resets. Gym sap and jibanam sap used to cure people come back as spendable resources. Lower Moss Cave’s Jibanam Trees are the geographic hint. If you cured the “wrong” set of NPCs for the narrative segments you want, this is the refund. If you cured the set you liked, you can still recure or redirect depending on what the Stone of Narrative still offers. The stone, not this paragraph, is the live checklist.
What stays
Abilities stay. Blink, glide (including wall grabs while gliding), wall climb, Lyani’s Claws, Silver Chain, Snaga’s Lightning Chain, Reien’s Covenant, Extermination Protocol, Boundless Focus, and Claw Tree boosts (Retrieve Photoenergy Boost, Blink Attack Boost) do not get stripped for a tutorial. That is the point of a second loop: the marsh chain and the expansion claws are already in your paws when you walk Origin Laboratory again.
Statues stay. You do not re-unlock every owl as if it were a new fast-travel toy. They remain in the world as HP restore points after bosses. Stone Warp points you already opened remain the way you skip walking the Kannir Belt for the third time.
Cabitz stay in spirit with your kept kit. Named stones include Half Salvation Stone, Traditional Royal Whetstone, Prepared Strike, Dotiman’s Token, and Heart of the Black Curse. This page will not invent a respec tax. If a stone is missing after rewind, look at memory-fragment rules before assuming a bug.
Heart pieces, mana pieces, memory fragments
Heart and mana pieces you already collected do not duplicate as raw extra chunks. They become memory fragments. Fragments are how the game acknowledges a pickup without breaking the health and mana economy. If you are hunting a larger life bar on cycle 35, you are hunting fragments and any pieces you never took, not a second copy of the same origin-lab widget. Carox markers from cycle 34 are still your best friend: empty rooms stay empty of the original item and may show fragment logic instead.
Afterglow walls and map knowledge
Blue afterglow walls are the extra-cycle traversal hook. Mark every blue wall you bounced off on cycle 34. On 35, walk that list before you start another boss tour. Combined with kept movement abilities, afterglow access is often the real “plus” content, not a harder damage number we cannot confirm. This wiki will not publish fake HP multipliers for plus bosses.
Carox knowledge stays in your head even if a marker list is messy. Drones help you re-snapshot rooms whose fragment sparkles are easy to miss in Aphotic Marsh sludge or Tenshukaku interiors.
Planning a cycle 35 route
Do not replay the entire Getting Started hour unless you want the stained glass again. Warp to the first Acer stone, the first sap node, and the first afterglow wall on your list. Revisit Aphotic Marsh if Silver Chain interactions or Sorr traces still sit on the Stone of Narrative. Revisit Jayma’s Dungeon if seals and King Examu still conflict with a castle objective. Revisit Lower Elord Castle if King’s Authority and the Stone of Immortality Chamber still have an exclusive fork.
Kane or Cain rescue remains a player-by-player stone question. Extra cycles are when people try again. This page will not promise that rewind auto-rescues anyone.
If you only wanted to know whether bosses come back: they do. If you only wanted to know whether your claws come back: they do. Everything else is fragments, sap, Acer, and blue walls. Return to the Walkthrough Hub when you need the parent index rather than another plus rule.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What resets in an extra cycle?
Bosses, Acer stones, and sap. Plan to re-fight named encounters and re-collect those resources.
What carries over?
Abilities and statues. Blink, Silver Chain, Lyani's Claws, and owl statues you already found stay. Stone Warp points remain useful.
What happens to heart and mana pieces I already took?
They do not duplicate as raw chunks. They return as memory fragments on later cycles.
Do bosses come back?
Yes. Confirmed names include Ortrinde, Irbes, Nagaraja, and Enma. That list is still not a complete official roster.
What are afterglow walls for on cycle 35?
Blue walls you could not pass earlier. Walk your Carox markers before you start another full boss tour.
Does New Game Plus auto-complete the happiest ending?
No. Mutually exclusive Stone of Narrative objectives and sap choices still matter. Rewind is another attempt, not a skip button.
